Interpretó pequeños papeles cuando era pequeña e hizo cameos en algunas películas de las gemelas Olsen, pero Elizabeth ha preferido formarse profesionalmente en las mejores academias de artes escénicas, no queriendo sacar provecho de la fama de sus hermanas. Estudió en el Atlantic Theater Company de Nueva York, y también se formó durante seis meses en el Moscow’s Art Theatre School de Rusia, país en el que aprendió el método Stanislavski y técnicas de lucha y acrobacias.
Entre 2011 y 2012 participó en cinco películas: «Paz, Amor, y malentendidos», «La casa muda», «Martha Marcy May Marlene», «Luces Rojas» y «Amor y Letras».
